Jonathan Miller is a Partner at Advancit Capital. He was the Chief Digital Officer and Chairman and CEO, Digital Media Group for News Corporation, a role in which he drove the Company’s overall digital strategy in conjunction with various operational heads, while also directly overseeing all of News Corp.’s standalone digital businesses. He also acted as News Corp’s principal executive for Hulu. Previously, Jon was Chairman and CEO of AOL, where he led the company to a record annual profit growth of 21 percent, and increased online advertising growth — the centerpiece of its new business model — by 46 percent in 2006. He also led AOL’s investment in Kayak which was sold to Priceline. Earlier in his career, Jon was CEO and President of USA Information and Services — now IACI and Expedia — and also served as Managing Director of Nickelodeon International, a unit of Viacom’s MTV Networks. From 1987-1993, he was Vice President, Programming and Co-General Manager of NBA Entertainment, where he was responsible for league-wide brand management and programming.
Jon has also been an active investor for many years. Jon was a founding partner of Velocity Interactive Group, an investment firm focusing on digital media and the consumer Internet space. He is a co-founder of Fuel Media Commerce, which focused on early stage investments. Jon is on the Board of Trip Advisor (Audit), Shutterstock (Nominating and Governance), Open X (Chair) and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. In addition, he serves as a non-profit Director/Trustee for the American Film Institute, BBC Global News, International Emmy Association, Independent Film Project, and Paley Center for Media. Jon has been awarded the Inaugural Pioneer Prize, Producers Guild of America, 2005 the Inaugural Vanguard Award, International Emmy Association, 2006 the Digital Power Player of the Year, Hollywood Reporter, 2009 and the Monaco Media Festival, Interactive Pioneer Award, 2010. Jon holds a B.A. with honors from Harvard College.
Tim Cadogan is the Chief Executive Officer of OpenX.
From 2003-2008 Tim was at Yahoo!, most recently as Senior Vice President of Global Advertising Marketplaces overseeing the primary advertising product lines at the company – including Display, Search and Video. Previously at Yahoo!, Tim was Vice President of Search where he was responsible for both the consumer search and paid search businesses.
Prior to Yahoo!, Tim was Vice President of Search at Overture (formerly GoTo.com). Prior to Overture, he was a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company. Tim earned his B.S. from The London School of Economics, his M.Phil from Oxford University and his MBA from Stanford University.
Andrew Braccia joined Accel in 2007 bringing with him a decade of operational and leadership experience. His primary areas of investment interest include consumer Internet and software businesses with a focus on web search, digital media and online advertising. Andrew currently sits on the board of Cloudera, High Gear Media, a next generation automotive content and advertising network, OpenX, the world’s leading Ad Server, SB Nation, the leading sports blog network and TRUSTe, a provider of online privacy certification.
Prior to Accel, Andrew held a variety of senior roles in business development, general management and operations with Yahoo! He began his career with the company in 1998, as a member of Yahoo’s early business development team. Most recently he served as vice president of Yahoo! Search, where he was responsible for all business and operational aspects of Yahoo’s consumer search business. In this capacity, he played a key role in helping to lead the company’s entry into the social search arena with the launch of Yahoo! Answers and the acquisition and integration of Del.icio.us.
Previously, as vice president of business operations for the Yahoo! Search and Marketplace Group, Andrew oversaw the business planning and financial performance of multiple Yahoo! businesses. Andrew also served as vice president and general manager of Yahoo’s Marketplace division, which includes Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! Travel, Yahoo! Real Estate, and Yahoo! Autos – all leading commerce sites in their respective categories under his leadership.
As a member of the original operating team that led the development Yahoo’s in-house search technology, he also played a significant role in the acquisition and integration of several companies, including Inktomi, Overture, Alta Vista, and FAST. In addition, he helped lead the acquisition of Flickr, an important component of Yahoo’s emerging community and social search strategy.
Bernard Dallé is a Partner at Index Ventures, which he joined in 1997. His areas of investment focus currently include enterprise infrastructure, applications and services. Bernard serves as a Director for several companies including Dimdim, Evolven, Pentaho, OpenX, Optier, StorSimple, Worklight. Prior to joining Index, Bernard spent six years with McKinsey & Company and Procter & Gamble. While with Procter & Gamble, Bernard was responsible for the implementation of financial, accounting and logistics ERP systems. He has a MSc. in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and a MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Business.
Howard Hochhauser is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Ancestry.com Inc. with 20 years of financial operations and management experience. Since joining Ancestry.com in January 2009 as the Chief Financial Officer, Howard has led the successful $100 million IPO of Ancestry.com, Inc., along with two $100 million follow-on offerings. More recently, he was instrumental in the acquisition of Ancestry.com, by Permira Funds. Prior to Ancestry.com, Howard held multiple positions at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., including Chief Financial Officer from July 2006 to December 2008, Vice President of Finance and Investor Relations of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. from March 2002 to March 2006 and Acting Chief Financial Officer from March 2006 to July 2006. He joined Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. in May 2000, and served in various capacities of increasing responsibility within the finance department throughout his eight years with the company. From 1996 to 2000, Howard served as the Vice President Equity Research Analyst of Bear, Stearns & Co. Prior to joining Bear Stearns & Co. Inc., he worked at First Boston and he was a Staff Accountant at KPMG Peat Marwick. Howard is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.S. in Accounting from Boston University.
Nino is responsible for the worldwide investment strategy and performance of SAP Ventures. Nino has been active in investment banking, general management and venture capital investing internationally for more than 15 years. He joined SAP Ventures in 2006, and focuses on enterprise technologies and services. Prior to joining SAP Ventures, Nino was a partner with meVC Draper Fisher Jurvetson and IVF Ventures in Palo Alto. He has led or helped execute more than 40 investments in information technology companies worldwide, and has held numerous board and board observer seats.
Prior to his venture capital investing career, Nino worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and Robertson Stephen in London, New York, and San Francisco. He has lived in Croatia, Austria, Italy, Germany and the United States, and holds a BA from Williams College and an MBA from the Stanford Business School.
Nicholas K. Pianim is Managing Director of DAG Ventures. Prior to joining DAG in 2007, Nick was Vice President of Corporate Development at Juniper Networks where he was responsible for acquisitions, commercial transactions and venture investments. Previously he was CFO for Ensemble Communications where he oversaw corporate development, and CEO of iAsiaWorks, a NASDAQ listed datacenter and managed services company. He also worked with Enterprise Partners Venture Capital on a variety of development and investment assignments and with Morgan Stanley International. Nick received a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Damon Reeve is the Chief Executive Officer of Unanimis, which he launched with Khalil Ibrahimi in 2001. He has 10 years experience in the Internet and advertising industries across Europe, the United States and Australia. Before launching the Company, Damon ran his own brand and interactive marketing consultancy after being Head of Marketing for Excite UK. Damon is also a co-founder of OpenX and remains on the Board as a non-executive Director. In August 2009, France Telecom purchased Unanimis to manage the advertising sales activity for Orange UK.
